Here are some frequently asked questions about the custom design process:
What does "custom design" mean?
It means that you and us work together to ensure that you have all the design features you desire in your custom piece; features such as width of band, texture and style of setting.
Here are some examples:
Texture: Matte, High Polish, Hammered, Bark or Stardust
Setting: Bezel, Prong or Claw, Double Claw, Channel, Pave or Flush
Width of Band: If it's a ring you are having made, choose the width that best suits your tastes and finger.
What is the benefit of creating a custom piece?
A custom piece is uniquely your own, styled with all the design aesthetics you love along with your own distinctive personality. Perhaps you have an heirloom stone you wish to have remounted in one of our existing mounts - by working together with us, you can customize it to your liking!
Is there anything I can't do?
We can accommodate most requests, as long as they fall within our design aesthetic.
What is design aesthetic', and how would I work within those boundaries to create a custom piece?
The Our Diamond design aesthetic refers to the designs, patterns, textures, shapes, and styles that already exist in our line. Here is an example of how you would work within those limits: take certain design elements of one piece and combine them with a design feature of another piece, for example: Matte texture on 3mm flat-topped band with pave-set white flawless diamond.
Is there an added cost to having something custom made?
No, there is no extra cost. Once you decide on the final design, we will provide you with a quote. Once you approve the quote and provide a 50% deposit, the process of creating your bespoke piece of jewellery will begin.
How long does this process take?
The bespoke process takes approximately 2 - 3 weeks depending upon the complexity of design.
